Historically, Qatar’s meat supply-chain has not been adequately diversified, leading to potential food security risks. Widam today plays a major role in securing top-quality meat supplies from around the world through its multi-layered supply-chain planning, global investments in agriculture, support for local production, and strategic international partnerships.

Mr. Faisal Abdul Wahid Al Hamadi

Chairman of the board of directors.

Mr. Faisal Al-Hammadi is an investment management professional with over 20 years in corporate finance, investment management, and financial advisory. He is the CIO for Qatar Portfolio at the Qatar Investment Authority, responsible for managing all listed and unlisted investments located in the State of Qatar across various sectors.

He is also on the board of the Qatar Fuel Company (WOQOD) and is Chairman of Hassad Food Company.

Beginning his illustrious career in the Corporate Finance division of Qatar Steel, he rose through the ranks to reach his current leadership role as Chief Investment Officer of the Pension Fund at the General Retirement & Social Insurance in Qatar. Prior to joining the Pension Fund, he played an advisory role at the Supreme Council of Economic Affairs and Investments (SCEAI), which sets economic policy and the capital allocation strategy for the State of Qatar. Mr. Al-Hammadi also headed the Asset Management division at Qatar Investment Authority, where he managed the finances of the Sovereign Wealth Fund of Qatar.

Apart from his corporate career, he has also been involved in academia during his tenure as a lecturer at Qatar University’s College of Economics and Business Administration.

In 1998, Mr. Al-Hammadi obtained his undergraduate degree in Business Administration from the College of Economics & Business, Qatar University. He subsequently completed his Master’s degree in Finance at the American University Kogod Business School in Washington D.C. Apart from his university education, he also acquired a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®) certification in 2006, and successfully completed a program in Leadership Development at Harvard Business School in 2008.

Mr. Ali Ibrahim A AL- Abdul Ghani

Vice Chairman of the Board

currently serves as the Vice  Chairman of the Board of Directors at Widam. He has also served as the President and CEO of the Qatar Islamic Insurance Group since 2012. Prior to that, he worked at the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs as the Chief of Administration and Financial Affairs, as well as the Director of Procurement in the Qatar Armed Forces from 1987-2012.

Dr. Masoud Jaralla Al-Marri

Dr. Masoud Jaralla Al-Marri currently serves as a member on the board of directors. He received his B.Sc. in Chemistry in 1990 – 1995 from University of Qatar and M.Sc. . in Environmental Engineering Sciences in 1999 – 2001 from University of Florida, USA and Ph.D. in Agricultural & Environmental Sciences in 2016 -2021 from the University of Sousse, Tunisia.

Mr. Masoud Al-Marri is currently an Executive Secretary, Food Security Committee Director at the Food Security Department and Ministry of Municipality & Environment in Qatar.

Mr. Nawaf Ibrahim Almana

Mr. Nawaf Ibrahim Almana currently serves as a member on the board  of directors. He also currently serves as Vice President of the Qatar General Organization for Standardization.

Mr. Almana previously received his Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from Qatar University, before continuing his studies to pursue a Masters in Management in Engineering from Sheffield Hallam University in the UK.

Mr. Farhoud Hadi AlHajri

Mr. Farhoud Hadi AlHajri currently serves as a member on the board  of directors. He also serves as the Executive Director of the Friends of the Environment Center.

Mr. AlHajri first received his Bachelor of Science in Zoology from Qatar University in 2000 before continuing his studies to receive a Master of Science in Business Administration in 2019.

Mr. Khalid Mohamed AL-EMADI

Mr. Khalid AL Emadi currently is the CEO of Medicare Group, a Qatari Listed Company and is the CEO of AL-Ahli Hospital. He is the Chairman of Mackeen Group . He was formally the Chairman of the Investment Committee of the General Authority of Minors Affairs. He has extensive experience in businees, investment and commerce, where he held many prominent Board Memberships .

He is a results-driven and passionate leader with a career that spans logistics, supply chain, and general management roles for nearly 20 years in Qatar, strategically leading all aspects of business management.

Previously, Al Noubay worked as General Manager for Hassad Qatar, in which he advanced through a series of fast-tracked promotions due to his significant leadership in Logistics & Supply Chain. Al Noubay began his career as a Logistics Specialist with Qatar Petrochemical Company (QAPCO) in 2002.

Al Noubay earned a Bachelor of Arts in logistics and Supply Chain Management, graduating with honors from Northumbria University in 2011. He also leverages a Master of Business Administration, earned in 2016 from Newcastle Business School in the UK.”
